PRESENTATION SUMMARY

During this session, Velissa Chappa will bring her legal knowledge to help businesses succeed when navigating documentation, directives, and discipline in the workplace.

SPEAKER BIO

Velissa R. Chapa is an Assistant General Counsel at the Texas Workforce Commission. Velissa specializes in employment law and advises agency management on a variety of employment law issues. She also conducts training sessions for internal management, where she discusses the policies and procedures, medical leave-related laws, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in business. Velissa serves as Board President for the Austin Youth River Watch, is the Treasurer of the Austin LGBT Bar Association, is a recent graduate of Leadership Austin, and in her spare time enjoys film, music, and supporting local art.
